Angela Zatopek: Refusing To Put Her Light Under A Shade
Have you ever had that moment when you’re with a group of people and you don’t know them or their religious backgrounds and you want to fit in and be liked so you don’t outright say that you’re a follower of Jesus? I have (Becky here) just to keep the peace. Because it’s hard to be out there with your faith today. So many preconceived notions about what we stand for in life. Better to stay under the lampshade. That’s why I am always amazed when I see someone shining their light bright with no abandon.
Imagine that except being on national TV and then after you choose to still keep that light shining bright being raked through the coals of every national news media, even the seemingly “Christian” ones. That’s this humble giant on this episode, Angela Zatopek. Former participant in miss Texas pageant and contestant winner of a national reality dating television show (like you win when he proposes to you on national television).
It’s just two girls talking about Jesus, virginity, public humiliation and Jesus. How he’s worth shining for in the midst of national public humiliation and how that experience hyper-launched her purpose and passion to create a jewelry line for shining Jesus’ light out loud. It’s also about heart-break, disappointment and following Jesus anyways.
Listen in, it’s worth it.
